Join us on Monday May 27th at 5pm for an incredible Memorial Day program, sponsored by the H.E.A.R.T.S. Veterans Museum and hosted by the American Legion Sam Houston Post 95. There will be a special guest speaker, a silent auction, music and fellowship! No admission! We would love to have you!
Let's go ladies! We know how to cook and we know how to clean house on those awards and prizes! Bring out your best mojito, dessert and jambalaya recipes and show 'em how it's done! Welcome to our 2024 American Legion Division 2 Convention! Saturday June 15, registration opens at 9am and a light breakfast will be served! There will be a Friday night karaoke party, June 14th starting at 7:30pm, at Sam Houston Post 95! The theme is Urban Cowboy! It will be a Gilley's Friday night, complete with a Dolly Parton look-alike contest! Dust off those old school boots, iron that Pearl Snap shirt, and get your best 'Bud and Sissy' garb on! It's going to be a great time! You can event take a shot at that 8 second buzzer on our inflatable mechanical bull!

The American Legion Family at Post 113 Lufkin and the VFW Memorial Post 1836 and Auxiliary proudly present the Family Freedom Vet Fest! Come out and join them for live music, food, fellowship and vendors! View the Freedom Tribute wall or give blood! Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be onsite for blood donations!
It's a cook-off hosted by the Honor Guard! They do great things, so come out and support them! Welcome to the 17th Ever Chigger Hill BBQ Cook-off at Sam Houston Post 95! This is an IBCA event, IBCA rules and by-laws apply (see attachments). Cook off spaces are 40' x 40', first come first served! Electricity and sewer are not available, access to water only. Please review the Post 95 rules, those also apply during your stay with us! The format of the convention is identical to last year. Breakfast and lunch with a salad bar will be provided. There will be a guest speaker from the VA-Houston, talking about the VA S.A.V.E. program. BOTH OF THESE FORMS MUST BE PRESENTED AT CONVENTION #1 - Registration Form - Every member or guest who attends the convention must be on the form. $20 will be collected for each person listed and is required in order to be allowed a meal. #'2 - Delegate Certification - This form lists your posts delegates to the convention. Delegates represent and vote for your post for any business matter that comes before the convention. Read the form carefully. Attached are the number of delegates each post is authorized. If you have any questions about the number of delegates listed, please contact me. Delegates Certification Form is separate from the Registration Form, so delegates must be listed on both. Raffles and Auctions Each post should bring an item to be auctioned or raffled.
Sunday, Feb. 25 we honor of the selfless acts of four Army chaplains aboard the sinking United States Army Transport Dorchester. As soldiers rushed to lifeboats, Reverend George Fox (Methodist), Jewish Rabbi Alexander Goode, Reverend Clark Poling (Dutch Reformed) and Father John Washington (Roman Catholic) comforted the wounded, directed others to safety, distributed life jackets, and when they ran out, they removed theirs and gave them to four young men. As the Dorchester sank, the chaplains were seen linked arm in arm, praying. American Legion posts nationwide remember Four Chaplains Day with memorial services that pay tribute to the courageous chaplains and the brave young men who lost their lives on that fateful night.
Post 86 Nacogdoches is hosting their annual gun raffle! Drawing to be done on December 7, 2023, 1st prize includes a shotgun and a rifle with scope, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prizes will be cash! Tickets are $10 each OR 3 for $20!

Stay ‘till sundown and take a ride on the Haunted Hayride! Watch a fun Halloween movie at the outdoor theater! There will be beverages for sale with the Tap Truck Outlaw, a hot dog stand, Toasted Ghosts (the build your own s’mores bar) and a bake sale to support our Auxiliary Juniors!

Lions Club Annual Golf Shoot Out! American Legion Post 85 Palestine has sponsored a hole for the tournament! All proceeds from this event go towards the Lions Club 2024 Scholarship Funds for Anderson County! Post 85's own Brian and Garrett will play for post 85 and represent! 2-man teams, $100 entry fee per team, there is still time to register and join the fun!

The Frankston community will be holding their annual Art Walk On The Square on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Frankston. The Art Walk is free to the public and everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the hometown atmosphere and local talent! Information and maps will be available for visitors at the main location in The Bankquet Room.
Our District 7 Convention is Saturday, April 22 in Madisonville at Post 84. Any member in good standing can attend the convention, but they have to register and pay the registration fee. We will be conducting a Memorial Service for those members we lost this past year. We will be addressing many business issues and voting. Delegates must have their membership cards.
This event commemorated the story of the 4 Immortal Army Chaplains, in service February 3, 1943, WWII, who gave their life jackets to save others, and went bravely to the depths on the stern of the Army's Dorchester transport ship.
